I want to learn how to design websites - really good ones with multimedia assets. Where do I begin? Classes?

Do I take classes? If so, where? How long are the programs? Are there independent instructors? In the Cleveland are. If you know of Universities or programs (masters, doctoral, whatever) for web design - any info would be appreciated!
