What is the name of this movie?

This is a vampire movie that came out in late 80's early 90's. I watched it on one of the movie channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime) countless times. It starts out with 3 college aged girls going to Romania/Transylvania because one of them is gathering research for her doctoral thesis on folklore. She meets a local guy that turns out to be a good vampire. He has an evil brother that is a vampire and they are fighting over an ancient vampire relic called a bloodstone. And the girl. I think the girl is bitten but not so sure of the ending. I think he might have stepped into the sun but I can't remember for sure. He might have just offered to meet the sun.
